ELECTRABEL / SNCF
The French national railway company SNCF and ELECTRABEL signed a commercial and industrial partnership agreement concerning the Société Hydroélectrique du Midi (SHEM), a 99.6% subsidiary of SNCF. The agreement also stipulates that the SNCF has an option to sell 80% of the SHEM shares.SHEM operates 49 hydroelectric power stations under concession, located at 12 sites on rivers or dams. Together they represent installed generating capacity of 773 MW and produce on average 2 billion kWh per year.

ONDEO / NEEC
Groupe ONDEO acquired EXXONMOBIL's stake in their joint venture company NEEC (NALCO/EXXON ENERGY CHEMICALS). Set up in1994, NEEC has a staff of 1500 worldwide and a turnover of $500 million. NEEC is one of the leading distributors of chemical products and treatment processes for use in the oil industry.
